2023 Alfa Romeo Tonale Powertrain Offerings
The Alfa Romeo Tonale offers two powertrain options, both showcasing expert craftsmanship and intuitive engineering. The first option uses plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) technology with Alfa Romeo's Q4 all-wheel-drive (AWD) system and a six-speed automatic transmission. The efficiency of the Tonale is bolstered by a 15.5-kWh lithium-ion battery combined with a 90-kW electric motor and a 1.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This powertrain option delivers a best-in-class horsepower of 272 and a range of more than 48 kilometres.
The other powertrain option is a Q4 AWD 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. It produces a best-in-class standard horsepower of 256 and 295 lb-ft of torque. Both options ensure a dynamic, safe driving experience without compromising fun and enjoyment.
2023 Alfa Romeo Tonale Efficiency and Sporty Performance
The Tonale is the most efficient plug-in hybrid compact SUV in the segment. It offers three options in delivering electrified power to the wheels. Each mode also changes the driving dynamics, including steering, braking, and suspension. The first mode is Dual Power/Dynamic, which performs with maximum output from the engine and electric motor. Then there is Natural mode, which is great for everyday use, balancing the power from both the engine and electric motor without compromising performance or driving comfort. The last mode is Advanced Efficiency, which is designed for purely electric operation, with a range of 48 kilometres.
